We know that all co-ops are cool. After all, what could be cooler than enhancing your classroom learning by gaining real world experience in your field? But OCEA is looking for Ohio’s Coolest Co-ops.

Students: show us how your co-op was cool – the cool people you met, the cool perks you received, or the cool projects you worked on. Here’s one example to get you started.
Design of Vision Inspection System
I experienced a cool co-op term this summer at Metal Forming & Coining in Maumee, OH. I was given the responsibility of managing and designing the build of a new automated inspection system for a defect that we were sorting for by hand. The experience was cool because I had full responsibility for the project including meeting with all the necessary suppliers, having meetings to track progress and to get input from other employees, and for programming the system once it was all built. This system is now used in production everyday and an order for another system is being made currently. Overall the results of my project were a great success and have provided the company with a great savings and have given me the opportunity to take on even more large magnitude projects.
